We are Danske Mink
Danske Mink is a non-profit Danish association working to ensure the future of responsible mink farming in Denmark. Our members include breeders, industry experts, and professionals who believe in combining animal welfare, quality, and sustainability.
Mink farming in Denmark is legal and highly regulated. After the temporary shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, a small but resilient group of breeders are now rebuilding a future-focused and more transparent sector under the world’s strictest control systems.

OUR GOALS FOR 2025
With a clear mission to re-establish the Danish mink sector and its supporting infrastructure, Danske Mink is placing extraordinary focus on the following priority areas in 2025:

Danish breeding animals
We have partnered with experienced Danish breeders to build a national breeding bank that fully complies with both governmental regulations and the association’s own standards for mink farming in Denmark. The first litters are expected in 2025, and members will be continuously updated on progress.

Mink farms
To restore the industry’s infrastructure, we are identifying and promoting farms that are currently vacant and not awaiting compensation assessment - making them available for restart as soon as possible.

Politics and regulation
In 2025, our political work will centre on negotiating and securing fair conditions for Danish breeders while optimising the legal framework and operational infrastructure needed to support the sector’s revival.

International relations
We aim to strengthen our collaboration with IFF, FurEurope, and relevant authorities and organisations in order to address shared challenges and turn international opportunities into concrete results.

Advisory support
We will continue to allocate resources to serve as a link between our members, public authorities, and the wider industry network - reducing barriers for individual breeders during the restart process.

Membership growth
A key focus in 2025 will be to grow our membership base and support the broader revival of Danish fur farming through targeted outreach and regional partnerships across the country.
